  • For beginner readers, use fewer cards than the total available in the applicable phase. For more advanced readers, play with additional cards or use cards from another phase to challenge or reinforce words.
  • “Tricky” words are highlighted for easy identification to remind children that they can’t sound out these words phonetically.
